Beltangady, Dec 16: A three-day district-level ‘Suvarna Arogya Mela’ was inaugurated at Primary Health Centre at Punjalkatte here on Friday December 15.
Rural development and panchayat raj miunister C M Udasi inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his happiness over the number of people from across the country and the world visiting the state for medical care.
District in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty presided over the programme. A sum of Rs 2.25 crore will be released soon to upgrade the Primary Health Centre, he said.
More than 3000 people have registered for health check-up at the exhibition. The camp offers facilities like ultra-sound, X-ray and a fully-equipped laboratory.
Among those present were DK ZP president Mamata D S Gatti, Bantwal taluk panchayat president Suneeta Padmanabha, Beltangady taluk panchayat president Valambra Narayana Gowda, taluk panchayat member Shalini Jain, ZP CEO A M Kunjappa, deputy secretary Shivshankar, district health officer Dr Jagannath and ZP member Thungappa Bangera.
