Mangalore Dec 17: Yakshotasva, a two-day intercollegiate Yakshagana Competition organized by S D M Law College and P G study centre, was held in the college auditorium on Saturday, December 16.

About 13 yakshagana troupes across the districts are participating in the competition.

Karnataka Bank chairman Ananthakrishna inaugurated the fest and said the events like Yakshotsava should attract the attention of the younger generation towards the rich heritage of the country’s culture and tradition.

Udupi MGM College Yakshagana Kendra director Heranje Krishna Bhat presided over the function and said that those who learnt Yakshagana would learn any other skill in life.

"Yakshamani Darshana" written by Janardan Hande, was released on the occasion. S D M Law College and P G study center Mangalore principal Dr B K Ravindra, S D M College of Business Management principal Dr K Devaraj and  Yakshotsava conveners Sainath Mallige Madu and Vidyashankar were present in the programme.
