Ghaziabad, Jan 8 (IANS): Over a dozen unidentified armed robbers looted cash, mobile phones and expensive electrical equipment from personnel at a government owned Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd's power station in Ghaziabad district.
The police said four gun-wielding robbers reached the Dasna power station Wednesday night. They thrashed the station officer and two linemen, Narendra and Ankit, tied them with a rope. Station supervisor Abhishek suffered injuries.
After this, the bandits called about a dozen accomplices who came on mini-truck and loaded all valuables electrical equipment and personal belongings of the staff.
The robbers remained in the power station for about four hours from 12.30 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. Thursday before escaping with the loot.
In the morning, Abhishek lodged the complaint with police.
"We have registered the complaint. The attempts to arrest them are being made. The criminals so far are at large," said Rajesh Pandey, the police circle officer of Ghaziabad circle.
