New Delhi, Jan 9 (Bhaskar News) : Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and spokesperson Mahua Moitra grabbed more than just eyeballs when she gave the middle finger to the editor-in-chief of a leading TV news channel on air. In a debate organised by Times Now, Mahua Moitra was seen losing her cool when the channel’s editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami hurled questions at her.
Also, present on the show were Nupur Sharma, member national executive, Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, and Jayanto Ghoshal, editor of a leading Bengali daily (Delhi edition).
Arnab hurled questions at Moitra and asked her if the party could justify the act. As seen in the video, she said: “Arnab, keep talking. This is a one-man show and you can keep talking.”
The debate was moderated held by the channel in the wake of TMC leaders’ assault on the man who slapped West Bengal chief minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee at a youth rally.
Moments after Abhishek Banerjee was slapped, TMC lawmakers engaged in a free-for-all to thrash the attacker, identified as Debashish Acharya. He was reportedly beaten up with hands, sticks and chairs and is battling for his life at a district hospital in East Midnapore.
