Shimla, Jan 9 (IANS): It was another long sunny day in Himachal Pradesh Friday but night temperature at most places in the hill state remained below the freezing point, a weatherman said here.
"It was a bright, sunny day across the state, but temperatures remained below the freezing point in many places," an official of the India Meteorological Department here told IANS.
Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, was the coldest place in the state at a minimum temperature of minus 9.7 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 2 degrees, while the temperature was minus 1.6 degrees in Manali, 5.6 in Shimla, 1.6 in Chamba and 4.2 degrees in Dharamsala.
Kalpa, Shimla and Dharamsala towns saw the maximum temperature at 5.8, 14.4 and 15.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The Met Office said the weather would remain dry till Sunday.
