Mangalore, Dec 19: NITTE education trust President Vinaya Hegde inaugurated the “Krista Jayathi Celebrations 2006 “at the Sandesha School of Arts and Culture College premises here on Tuesday December 19 evening.

While delivering Christmas Message Bishop Fr Aloysius P D’Souza of Mangalore said “God is part of each individual. Unless we recognize Him it will not easy to show mercy to other one. We are social animals and we should live with harmony and we should work towards maintaining peace and harmony in the society."

Eminent writer Sara Abubakar in her Christmas message said “Now the importance of Christmas has lost its true meaning and restricted only in to the bulk of Christmas cake and not the messages of Jesus.   Today’s world it is very hard to find humanitarian gesture among the people. We should knock the door of our hearts and find out as where are conscience is."

Fr Francis Xavier Lewis, director of Sandesha welcomed the gathering. Fr Osmand Shiri was also present on the dais.

As part of the Christmas celebration Sandesha School of arts and Culture had also organized variety entertainment programmes depicting the life and messages of Christ. The programmes   including ballet “Jyothirgamaya” choreographed by Vani Rajgopal, principal of Sandesha College depicted the life of Jesus Christ, Christmas carols by CSI Jeppu, puppet show by CSI, Vishranthi Church, Christmas dance performed by Kala Sangam and CSI  Mercara Hill Church, Christmas carols by students of SLMV .

A sale cum exhibition of Christmas candles and other decorating items added flavour to the festive atmosphere.
