Kerry unhurt in 'minor' road accident


Gandhinagar, Jan 12 (IANS): US Secretary of State John Kerry was unhurt Monday afternoon after his motorcade was involved in road accident while on the way to the airport to fly to Pakistan.

Gujarat Police officials said two cars in Kerry's motorcade were involved in the accident as he left the Mahatma Mandir convention centre after attending the seventh Vibrant Gujarat summit.

"It was a minor accident. The Secretary of State did not get out of his car and the motorcade continued its journey," a police official said.

There was minor damage to Kerry's car. Another car which hit Kerry's car from behind was pulled out of the motorcade due to damage.

Kerry headed for the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport where he boarded his aircraft to fly to Islamabad.
