'Aambala' faces legal hurdle over title

Chennai, Jan 13 (IANS): A petition has been filed in Madras High Court against the makers of Vishal-starrer Tamil actioner "Aambala" by aspiring filmmaker Harikrishnan, who claims he had already registered the title.

In his petition, Harikrishnan has urged the court to stall the film's release, slated for Thursday.

"I had registered the title 'Aambala' with the Tamil Film Producers Council for my story. I have now learnt that the makers of Vishal's film have used the same title without even seeking my permission. Hence, I've taken the legal recourse," Harikrishnan said.

Meanwhile, advance bookings for "Aambala" have already started in major cinema halls across Tamil Nadu.

Directed by Sundar C, "Aambala" featuring Hansika Motwani, is produced by Vishal's home banner Vishal Film Factory.

A source close to Vishal told IANS that they are going ahead with the film's release, rubbishing allegations about the title.
