Bomb blast kills two in Afghanistan


Kabul, Jan 13 (IANS): At least two people were killed Tuesday and two others were injured when a car was blown up with a bomb in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul, police said.

"A sticky bomb attached to a car went off in front of Mir Kabuli mosque in Aqa Ali Shams locality in Kabul. The blast killed the driver and injured a woman aboard the vehicle," Xinhua reported.

The explosion, which occurred around 7.00 a.m., also killed the driver and injured a passenger of a minibus which was passing by the site, said a police official.

Taliban insurgent group claimed responsibility for the attack.
