15 leaders from different parties join BJP

New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS): A total of 15 leaders from different political parties, including the Congress and the AAP, Tuesday joined the BJP here expressing their desire to work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Apart from the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, leaders, including former legislators and councillors, of the Bahujan Samaj Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Janata Dal (United) joined the BJP.

The Akhil Bhartiya Khatik Mahasabha too extended its support to the BJP.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP's Delhi unit president Satish Upadhyay said: "These leaders are greatly influenced by the BJP and Modi ji."

"The Dalit community sees him (Modi) as a social reformer and due to this we have found in Delhi that various sections of Dalit community are continuously joining the BJP," he added.

The BJP is seeing the development as a major boost for it ahead of the Feb 7 assembly poll in the national capital.
