Hyderabad, Jan 14 (Bhaskar News) : In a shocking CCTV footage recorded on December 26, female table Tennis players are seen coming out of the coach's hotel room at 1.30 am. Girl players of junior table tennis team of Chhattisgarh were staying at a hotel in Andhra Pradesh for the Cadet National Sub-Junior Competition. What is even more shocking is the fact that the 19-year-coach appears to be dragging a female player out of her room and the girl is seen struggling.
Many norms appear to have been flouted during the Tour which raises many questions about the functioning of the Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association.
The fact that a 19-year-old man was hired as a coach for the girls' team speaks volumes about the lackluster approach of the association. Further, according to the rules set by the Chhattisgarh Olympics Association, a woman coach should accompany the women's team in any event. The regular coach was also not sent with the team.
After the footage went viral on social networking sites, the National Table Tennis Association suspended the player and the coach. No reason has been given for the suspension of the player. Association’s chief secretary Amitabh Shukla has also resigned from his post.
The incident came to light when one of the players informed her parents about the incident.
