Mangalore, Dec 22: Around 750 litres of liquor which reached Mangalore by train was seized by the District Excise Department and the Railway Police on Friday evening.
According to reliable sources, the liquor was sent to Mangalore by the goods train and the same was unloaded at the Mangalore Railway Station.
The sleuths of the Excise Department who obtained information on the transportation of liquor seized the liquor with the help of the RPF.
The liquor is said to be worth around Rs 75,000.
B J Hiremut, Superintendent, Excise Department, Aziz, Deputy Superintendent, Excise Department personnel M R Halaya, Satish Kumar Kudroli, RPF personnel Sethumadhava, Subramanyam, Manohar Jayappa, Vamana, Teerthaprasad and Raghuram took part in the operation.
