Mangalore, Dec 23: Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva was given the Sanatana Sowgandhika Award at a programme held in Town Hall on Saturday.
The award was constituted by Sri Sanatana Natyalaya as part of the Sanatana Kala Saptaha.
Speaking after giving the award, Mangalore University vice-chancellor Prof Kaveriappa said that art lives forever only when it is maintained in its original form.
Resident Editor of Kannada daily Vijaya Karnataka U K Kumarnath was the chief guest on the occasion. Directors of Sanatana Natyalaya Chandrashekar K Shetty and Sharadamani Shekar were present on the occasion.
‘Dutha Vakya’, a Kannada drama directed by Jeevan Ram Sullia was staged on the occasion.
