Dubai, December 23: Members of Fatima Maiecho Suvad (Famad Pernal) celebrated their unity by coming together in large numbers, for the commemoration of their parish feast. The event 'VT Travels Famad Fest' was celebrated on Friday, 15 December at Rock City, Dubai and many captivating entertainment programmes were organised.

The event took off with a prayer by David Correa, a senior Pernalite visiting this part of the country, followed by welcome by vice President of Famad Pernal Committee Denis Correa. Dinesh Correa, president of the organisation compered the entire day's proceedings with charm and glamour. Asha Correa read-out their achievements and accomplishments in her report. Members of Pokri Pernal put up some wonderful performances thanks to their glitzy Konkani group dance performances and hilarious skits. Many filmi solo dances were performed by some budding member children.  To add to the fun were some soul stirring melodies and foot tapping numbers by Rhythms, one of the leading music bands in Dubai. Dony, Asha and Dinesh rendered their voices.  The compere also conducted some unique games and competitions for the audiences.

The main attraction of the event was traditional buffet lunch. Delicacies such as Dukramas, Ragti, Idlies, Bhakryo, Beetroot Salad, Pao, Channe Sukhe and such typical Mangalorean style food was served.  The evening session continued to be an entertaining session along with American Auction, Housie and to end, the non stop bayla.

The main sponsor, VT Travels was specially honoured with 'Mundasacho Maan' and other sponsors were given flower bouquet as gratitude for their support and benefaction.

Jacintha Pereira Kamath, joint secretary proposed vote of thanks.  The entire event was compered by Dinesh Correa.

The event was part of the Zamath's unity programme, being the fourth one after June this year. One of the members of the Zamath expressed his joy and gratitude for being a part of the association and having been associated with many charity events held by Famad Pernal.
