Beltangady, Dec 24: A school bus carrying children on an excursion turned turtle on the Charmadi Ghats injuring 11 children.

The children of Kengondu Government Higher Primary School, Byadagi taluk, Haveri district were on an excursion to Chikmaglur district.

The tempo turned turtle on the second curve on Charmadi Ghats on Friday night. Out of the 11 persons hospitalized, 7 suffered major injuries.

The injured have been identified as Krishna (14), Huliyamma (40), Akkamma (14), Mayamma (13), Shivanna (14), Sukanya (14), Hanumantappa (13), Kenchappa Gowda (13), Nagaraj (30), Shanta (30) and Savitri (14).

The tempo was carrying 10 boys, 10 girls, 3 teachers and the driver and the vehicle cleaner.
