Mangalore, Dec 25: A programme was organised for the inmates of the sub jail here as part of Christmas and New Year celebrations organised by the prison ministry of India on Sunday December 24.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy mayor Abdul Salim said that the youth must unite and stay away from acts of violence so that peace is restored in the society.

The highlight of the programme was the presence of Santa Claus who cheered the inmates while the accompanying music added to the celebrations.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza, home ministry deputy secretary Nagendra and jail superintendent C R Tallur were present.
