Moodbidri, Dec 25: With a special programme for Christmas presented by Sandesha Foundation that stole the show, the fifth year celebration of Adla Christmas Nite 2006 at Padmavati Kala Mandir, Moodbidri took off on Monday December 25.

Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, who inaugurated the programme also formally, launched www.canaratv.com.
CEO and Editor-in-chief of Daijiworld.com Walter Nandalike cut the Christmas cake.

The event was presided over by Director of Sandesha Foundation Fr Francis Lewis.

MLA Moodbidri Abhayachandra Jain, former minister Amarnath Shetty, Past District Governor, district Lions I-A Chicago, Austin Prabhu, Michael Mendonca and Parish Priest of Alangar Church Fr Vincent D’Souza were present on the dais.


Young talent Ester Noronha presented a Bharatanatyam dance based on the life of Jesus Christ which won tremendous applause.


Walter Stephan Mendes of Mendes Builders and Developers, Moodbidri, Arun Mendes, Flora Mendes and Magdalene Mendes were present on the occasion.


On the occasion, film maker Richard Castelino was honoured with the life-time achievement award in the field of cinema. Speaking on the occasion, he revealed that he would be directing ‘Badhi,’ a Tulu film and ‘Kaazaar', a Konkani film in January, 08.

A sum of Rs one lac was given by the Michael Mendonca toward the marriage expenses of four poor girls. The cheque was handed to Fr Vincent on the occasion.
