Mangalore, Dec 26: A programme was organised at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple here on Monday December 25 on the occasion of taking out the light (Jyothi) from here to Shivagiri, Kerala.
Speaking on the occasion, former state Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Janardhan Poojary said that the teachings of Narayan Guru are followed by people all over the world and this has helped in bringing about unity.
He further stated that it was the duty of religious leaders to provide the right guidance to the youth.
The light will be carried to Shivagiri for the spiritual programme to be held there in remembrance of Narayan Guru. The programme will be held under the auspices of Sri Narayan Guru Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam. About 200 people are expected to accompany the vehicle carrying the light.
The procession was led by SNDP Yogam assistant secretary Arayakandi Santhosh.
