Mangalore, Dec 27:
The third Mahamastakabhisheka of Bhagwan Sri Bahubali will be held at Dharmasthala from January 28 to February 3 2007, said Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday December 26.

The Mahamastakabhisheka will be observed under the guidance of 108 Acharya Sri Vardhamana Sagara Munimaharaj and Charukeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji of Shravanabelagola.

The inauguration on the evening of January 28 will be followed by a Bhavaikya Sammelana, Pravachanaand and Kavi Sammelana. Several scholars from across India will be honoured on the occasion.

A grand cultural fest will be part of the celebrations in which actresses Hema Malini, Shobhana and singer S P Balasubramanyam will take part. An exhibition will be held on the occasion which will provide information about Dharmasthala and past Mahamastakabhisheka held here.

Vice-president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has been invited. Governor, chief minister, and other central and state ministers are expected to attend, Heggade informed.

Various religious programmes have been lined up for the occasion. Devotees from all over India will take part, he said.

Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, Superintendent of Police B Dayanand, D Surendra Kumar and Prof S Prabhakar were present at the press meet.
