Udupi, Dec 28: The Railway Yathri Sangha blocked the movement of the Rajdhani Express for 10 minutes at the railway station here on Wednesday December 27 demanding the restarting of Dadar – Madgaon – Mangalore Janashatabdhi Express.
The train service was cancelled from November 1 by the Konkan Railway Corporation.
In a memorandum submitted to the Konkan Railway chairman through the city’s station master, the Sangha alleged that the Corporation has been unfair to the commuters from the coastal districts by cancelling the Janashatabdi Express.
Addressing press persons, Sangha advisor R L Dias said that the train has not resumed service despite repeated requests made to the concerned authorities including the Konkan Railway Corporation.
The Sangha claimed that the train service is a lot beneficial to the people of undivided South Kanara district and North Kanara, who are settled in Mumbai.
