New Delhi, Jan 22 (IANS): A court here Thursday recorded the statements of two police officials over the alleged rape of a woman executive by a driver of the Uber cab company.

Additional Sessions Judge Kaveri Baweja recorded the statements of two police sub inspectors - Devender and Sandeep - who were testifying as prosecution witnesses.

Accused driver Shiv Kumar Yadav was arrested by Delhi Police Dec 7 from his hideout in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

Devender told the court he was a member of the team which apprehended Yadav from Mathura after conducting a raid.

Sandeep told the court he was a part of the team that seized the vehicle inside which the woman was allegedly raped.

Yadav, 32, allegedly raped the woman executive in the cab she hired to head back home in north Delhi's Inderlok area Dec 5 last year.

The trial will continue Friday and the court will likely record the statement of an expert from the Forensic Science Laboratory and seven other witnesses.
