Khaleda Zia's son dies in Malaysia


Dhaka, Jan 24 (IANS): Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia's younger son Arafat Rahman Koko died of heart failure Saturday, the party confirmed.

Khaleda's press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told bdnews24.com that Koko died while he was being taken to a hospital in Malaysia.

Koko, convicted in a money-laundering case, was staying abroad since 2008.

He was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 190 million taka (about $ 2.5 million) for laundering money to Singapore between 2004 and 2006, when his mother was prime minister.
