NIA absolves Liaqat Shah of all terror charges levelled against him

New Delhi, Jan 24 (PTI): The National Investigation Agency has absolved Liaquat Shah, alleged to be a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, of all terror charges levelled against him by Delhi Police Special Cell.

The NIA on Saturday filed a charge sheet against Delhi Police’s suspected ‘source’ Sabir Khan Pathan in the case.

Shah was allegedly arrested by the Delhi Police on March 20, 2013 from near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh after he crossed over to India from Nepal.

His arrest sparked a controversy after the Delhi Police and the Jammu and Kashmir Police came out with conflicting versions of his intent.

The Home Ministry had on March 28, 2013 issued a notification facilitating the NIA to take over the case after his arrest had generated conflicting versions from Delhi and J&K Police.

Shah had said that he had come to surrender under the Jammu and Kashmir government’s rehabilitation policy. Delhi Police, which arrested him soon after he had crossed the border with his family, alleged that Shah was involved in the conspiracy to carry out terror attacks in the national capital ahead of Holi.

Delhi police should offer unconditional apology to him! NIA now headed by BJP should be trusted.. there are many like Col.Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya whop are still rotting in Jail, without any chargesheet! they should be quickly interrogated and let out!... No Innocent should get punished for no faults of his..

Lt Col Srikant Prasad Purohit: One of the victim who was crucified in the name of saffron terror. He was working on behalf of Indian army and was infiltrating terrorist groups. He was one of the expert who gave talks to Mumbai ATF on terrorism. Who later tortured him. Army still gives him salary he isn't fired. Loads of his colleagues gave him clean chit. His superiors confirmed he was working under orders. Atleast RR Patil who is fighting life and death situation, comes out clean now!

Well, it is all but natural to suspect someone travelling from Pakistan via Nepal! Surely climbing Mt Everest was not his agenda. Good work NIA. Perhaps some monetary compensation to assuage this man's feelings won't be out of order.

Many innocent Muzlim youths arrested by NIA terror charges humiliated tortured and spoiled their image fame everything through media. Most of of them so far released linking no evidences and rest still languishing in jails without trials for years.
NIA should take further initiative to release of remaining suspects.

It is not arrest, torture and release.
It is arrest, interrogate and release if not found guilty.

For any defense organisation, it requires huge amount of boldness and courage to their doubts were false and so we should appreciate the impartial probing. Thanks to Ajit Doval heading NIA now.
If you are aware, most of the terrorists, drug peddlers, underworld supari agents, thieves, cattle thieves etc are caught on random checking by the police. So if a person is caught, interrogated and released, we should be proud of our investigating agencies.
However, Liaquat Shah is found not guilty in the case where AK 56 and granades planted by some one else, but surely not so innocent because he was trying to sneak into india with his Pakistani wife. And before this sneaking event, he was in Pakistan.

Shankar, I know, there is no connection, But I want to hear the sweet story from you about the facts. If you know the answer please write, if not leave blank.

Shankar, I have been putting the following 3 questions in this forum. But none of the chaddis could answer the question.
    1) police arrested some suspects in Akshamdam, Hyderabad, Ajmer...etc and kept them under detention and torture for 8 - 10 years. After words the courts released them all without any charges and in some cases awarding compensation. Now the million dollar question is WHO carried out these attacks ?????? If the police are not able to find out the REAL culprits, then what is the use of their salaries and services.
    2) Tagodia is absconding from the arrest warrant from Kerala court, But we Kannadigas are attending his speeches and we do not care to hand him over to the Police. IS this Nationalism / Patriotism ????
    3) Cow slaughter bill is a law in Gujarat. Still BEEF is exported from Gujarat. The laws are made for whom ??????????????????? Double standards.
