Two killed over land dispute in Bihar


Patna, Jan 25 (IANS): Two people were killed Sunday in a village in Bihar's Banka district over a land dispute, police said.

The incident took place at Malbathan village in the district, about 200 km from here.

"A group of armed criminals attacked two people with crude bombs and both died on the spot," a district police official said.

Police have recovered the bodies and sent them for a post mortem examination.

He said tension prevailed after the incident and additional security forces were deployed to keep a watch on the situation.

"Angry over the incident, some local villagers pelted stones at police to protest against it," the official said.

Police have lodged a case and begun a probe.
