Mangalore, Jan 2: A major fire broke out at Shruti Printers and Publishers Private Limited here in Baikampady Industrial Area on Tuesday January 2 morning.
Though the cause of the fire is not yet known, it is suspected that it might have been a short circuit.
Luckily no casualties have been reported but the loss is set to run into several lacs of rupees.
Since the majority of the material in the establishment contained papers which resulted in rapid spread of the fire, the fire fighters are still putting their best efforts to extinguish the fire.
Over 20 employees and firemen have been deployed in the fire fighting operation.
The firm provides printed paper products and is closely associated with the city’s School Book Company.
