Mangalore, Jan 3: Two people have been arrested on account of possessing a panther’s hide worth Rs 1 lac by the district crime investigation bureau on Monday January 1.
The arrested, Rajgopal Gowda (37) of Thottadi in Beltangady and B Jayaram (47) of Charmadi, were arrested while they were smuggling the hide from Charmadi to Beltangady.
The hide as well as the motorcycle on which they were travelling was seized by the police.
A case has been registered in this regard with Beltangady police. The arrested are under judicial custody.
