Bangalore, Jan 3: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said his government was not ignoring the minority community and he had no knowledge of Minister for Wakf Board and Haj affairs Zameer Ahmed's decision to resign from the Cabinet.

"I have no knowledge about it since he (Ahmed) has not expressed his decision to quit the cabinet. I learnt about his decision only through newspapers. I have not received an official communication to the effect and I cannot react at present based on press reports, he told mediapersons after his meeting with Governor T N Chaturvedi at Raj Bhavan here.

Ahmed alleged the Chief Minister of neglecting the minorities after he skipped the Eid-Ul-Zuha celebrations yesterday, saying it ''was not in his official engagement''.

Refuting the allegations, he said, "I was the one who sanctioned five acre land for Haj Bhavan. The matter was pending for the last 10 years. The budget allocation was increased four times. How can you say that I am ignoring the minority community, he questioned.

The Chief Minister also extended New Year greetings to the Governor.
