Bantwal, Jan 3: The assault by miscreants on Abdul Latif, a bona fide journalist, by on December 31 at B C Road, has evoked sharp response from the Working Journalists' Association in the city.

At an emergency meeting convened on Tuesday, the Bantwal taluk Working Journalists' Association presided over by Ibrahim Adkasthala, demanded that the police take stringent action against the alleged.

He has also demanded immediate protection for journalists from the district police. General secretary Sooryanarayana Poovala, executive members Venkatesh Bantwal, Farooq Goodinabali, Abdul Latif, Sukumar and others were present.
