Mangalore, Jan 4: Heavy fog in Delhi and Amritsar resulted in a delay of the Air India Express flight from Dubai to Mangalore on Tuesday night.

The flight which was to land on the evening of Tuesday finally arrived at the Bajpe airport only on Wednesday around 6-45 am.

It may be noted that the aircraft flying from Amritsar to Dubai is routed to Mangalore with a change of flight number. Any delay from Amritsar, by a chain reaction, results in delay of the flight to Mangalore. The problem is expected to persist until new aircraft are acquired by the airline.

In the meantime other airlines are also continuing their efforts to start flights from the Gulf to Mangalore, for which they have been awaiting clearance from the civil aviation ministry of the government of India.
