Mangalore, Dec 4: "The proposed Nagarjuna Power Plant at Nandikur near Padubidri is absolutely necessary to meet the power shortage faced by the state. There is no second thought in this regard," said chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Speaking to the press at the helipad near Dharmasthala he said that those who oppose Nagarjuna are doing so to meet their own personal agenda. The state is facing acute shortage of power. "If we still continue opposing these kinds of developmental projects we will soon be living in a dark world. Those who are opposing the project must visit some similar projects which have been set up by the seaside in various places. If they wish to do so, the government will take care of the expences involved in this," he added.
