Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (AF)

Udupi, Jan 4:  Vaikunta Baliga College of Law here will organise a national-level moot court competition from Friday January 12 to Sunday January 14 as part of its golden jubilee celebrations.

Addressing media persons here, principal of the college Prof M M Nadig informed that 29 colleges from across the country have already registered for the event.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy.will witness the session on Saturday January 13 and he will be joined by Justice N Kumar and Justice S Abdul Nazeer on January 14.

The participants will be given mock cases for which have they have to present arguments in the role of prosecution and defence.

The golden jubilee celebrations of the college will begin on Friday January 5. Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde will inaugurate the programme.

The college will also host ‘Law Fest 2007’ an inter-collegiate university-level fest on Saturday January 6 at Madhav Mantap here. There will be a sports meet on Tuesday January 23 and a host of competitions on Wednesday January 24 and Thursday January 25 followed by a legal aid camp on Sunday January 28.

Artiste Praveen Godkindi will perform a flute recital on February 4 while magician will present a show on February 6.

Apart from these, annual day, founder’s day and old students’ day will be observed on February 9 and 10.

The golden jubilee celebrations will culminate on March 3.
