Mangalore, Jan 4: A case has been filed on notorious criminal Mulki Rafiq for cheating Rs 3.5 lac to a man in the Mulki police station.

In a case filed at Mulki police station, one Vijay Kumar, a resident of Mulki has stated that he had paid Rs 3.5 lac to Shakir, son of Mulki town panchayat vice-president Abubakkar to get him the post of sub-inspector in police department.  The latter had promised him that Mulki Rafiq who was still at large then, would get him the coveted job by influencing political leaders at Bangalore.

But when he did not get the promised job, he asked Shakir to return his money.  But Mulki Rafiq is said to have threatened him with life through Shakir.  Now that Mulki Rafiq has been nabbed, Vijay Kumar has filed a case against Mulki Rafiq, Shakir and Samiulla in the Mulki police station.
