Kundapur, Jan 4: The Bhatkal police have arrested 3 persons who are said to have stolen 15 computers from a school at Belke near Bhatkal on Sunday January 3.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Jalaluddin of Manchi near Bantwal, Abdul Karim of Bantwal, Hasan Shabbar Ismail Khajiya Bhatkal and Abdul Mutalik Bhatkal.

The arrested have been accused of stealing 15 computers from Belke school and also mid-day meal utensils from various schools in and around Bhatkal.  They had also stolen two Maruti cars from Bantwal region in Dakshina Kannada district.  The police have now seized goods worth more than Rs 10 lac from the arrested.

The police had managed to trace the marks made by the moving of Maruti car in the Belke school compound.  Based on this they had gathered information about various Maruit cars that had passed through check post on National highway.  Some local restaurant owners too had helped police in tracing the number of the car.  Based on this information and with the help of sniffer dogs, the police had managed to arrest one of the accused from Bantwal.

During the investigation he spelt beans and informed about the whereabouts of other accomplices.  The stolen valuables were hidden in a house situated on Jali Road near Bhatkal from where they were recovered later.
