Moodbidri, Jan 5: World famous tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain on the first day of Alva’s Virasat presented a mesmersing concert with Shashank on flute, Satish Kumar on Mridangam and Mahalakshmi Shenoy with tanpura.
The mega event which took place on Jan 4 in Mizar here was inaugurated by Odissi danseuse Sonal Manalsingh.
On Friday at 6 pm to 8.30 pm there will be a violin concert by Kunnikudi Vaidhyanathan and troupe and from 8.40 pm to 10.30 pm Mohiniattam by Gopikavarma and troupe.
Zakir Hussain was conferred with `Virasat 2007' award at the sixth annual national cultural festival "Alva's Virasat".
Vice chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Prabhakaran, former Minister K Amarnath Shetty, Abhayachandra Jain, MLA, and others were present on the occasion.
