Udupi: Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike hold dharna remembering Mahatama Gandhi

Udupi, Jan 31: Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike held a dharna for commemorating the day of Mahatama Gandhi on Friday January 30 at near Clock tower Udupi, here.

Udupi MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj offered a garland on Gandhi's statue at clock tower. He said "Gandhiji fought not only for independence but for bringing unity and wholeness. We should always abide by the principles of father of Nation."

In addition to that, he said unfortunately there is a conspiracy going on in political system, which is against the law.



CMC president, Yuvaraj said ‘there is a need of revival of all Gandhi’s principles, only then it is possible to bring peaceful among people’.

J Rajshekar, Committee President said Gandhi sacrified his life so as to have communal harmony in country, but all human values are losing its real significance.

He further added that in November 2014 areas like Gangolli, Kodi and Ulayibettu have became a target for communal disrupters and asked the people not to fall into the trap set by few communal people.

Gandhi thoughts, Sahitya vachana and patriotic songs were played throughout the day by the soharda committee.
