Mangalore, Jan 5: The most advanced 64 slice cardiac CT machine installed in A J Hospital and Research Centre here was inaugurated on Friday, January 5.
Health Minister, Kerala State PK Sreemathi inaugurated the machine.
Dakshina Kananda district-in-charge Minster B Nagaraj Shetty presided over the programme held in the premises of the hospital.
The CT Coronary Angiogram is a simple, non-invasive method to evaluate the status of coronary vessels that supply blood to the heart. It involves imaging of the heart after injecting contrast medium in one f the small peripheral veins while the patient relaxes o the machine table.
Medical director of A J Hospital and Research Centre Dr Prashant Marla welcomed the gathering.
President of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust A J Shetty, spoke on the occasion.
Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation Vijaya Arun, MLA Suratkal Krishna J Palemar, former minister K Amarnath Shetty and former MP, T Govindan were present.
