Udupi, Jan 5: Nagarjuna protest committee has called for a day-long National Highway bundh on Saturday January 13.
Speaking to the press persons committee president Pramod Madhwaraj said that bundh will be held from Byndoor to Talapady from 6 am to 6 pm. "We do not mind even if it is a violation of law. We all are against setting up of Nagarjuna in this area. If the government is insisting on setting it up, we are bent on driving it away," he warned.
He further said that the administration and the deputy commissioner will be responsible if the agitators resort to violence. Meanwhile all fishing activities will be closed down for a day on January 13. He has also asked bus owners, rickshaw associations, schools and colleges to support protest.
Meanwhile speaking at a separate press conference deputy commissioner Ponnuraj clearly stated that no one will be allowed to hold highway bundh on January 13. "If anyone tries to block highway by breaking law and order, he/she will be arrested. No one has the right to disturb public life for their personal gains," he stated.
