Mangaluru: Vikas PU College holds prize distribution day

Mangaluru, Feb 1: Vikas Pre University College held ‘Prize Distribution Day’ on Sunday, February 1 at its premises.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr HG Shekharappa, registrar of evaluation, VTU Belgaum. The programme was presided over by Krishna J Palemar, former minister and chairman, Vikas Education Trust.

The principal of the college, Dr K Rajendra welcomed the gathering and briefed about the unique achievement of 100% results of the first batch that passed out in the year 2013-14. The top scorers of the board exams and CET were felicitated on the occasion.

Dr H G Shekharappa motivated the students by giving real world examples and also briefed them about the engineering colleges in Karnataka branches, technological advances in the Visvesvaraya Technological University.

The second issue of the college magazine 'Aakrithi' was released by the registrar of evaluation Dr HG Shekharappa. He also appreciated the growth of PU College as one of the most reputed colleges in Karnataka within such a short span of time. The vote of thanks was delivered by vice-principal Joseph D'Costa.

Colin D'Souza, Counselor and Student Welfare Officer of Vikas College interacted with the alumni and conducted interactive sessions.

Ananth Prabhu G, advisor of the Vikas Education Trust, Trustees Sri Koragappa, Sri J K Rao, Sri Suraj K, Jino K John, dean, students, their parents and faculty members of the Vikas college graced the occasion with their presence.

    One of the finest colleges in Mangalore. Within such a short span of time, it emerged to be one of the top colleges in Karnataka.
