Theft at Delhi church

New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS): A few sacred items were stolen from a church here, police said Monday.

The theft took place at St. Alphonsa's church in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area. A few sacred items, including a ciborium (receptacle) locked up in a safe cabinet made of wood and glass, were taken away.

The items were stolen from the cabinet and a few of them were also destroyed, police said.

Police was informed Monday morning, after the church guard found the church's main entry gate open.

Police said that they questioned a few people living near the church.

In the last two months, this is the fifth incident of a church being attacked in the national capital.

Three people were arrested Jan 15 for vandalising a church in west Delhi after they were captured by a CCTV camera installed inside the premises of the church.

These are concerted attacks in recent months by various hate groups, trying to make problems to minority, which is a peaceful community, always working for the good of the nation, through education, brotherhood and tending the sick and poor.
These kind of attacks, only goes to show the level of thinking of these groups. They need guidance from their parent groups (then when one thinks, the parent groups themselves may be needing guidance as a few them may be supporting these smaller one in these kind of activities.) not to attack the community which only wants cordial relationship with all their neighbours in the Country.
Whoever is the Government, should take immediate necessary steps to stop these kind of attacks on religious places.
I hope God gives His grace to everyone to think sanely and live neighbourly.
