Girl confronts molester on flight, video goes viral

Feb 3 (Agencies): Our leaders may be talking about the safety of women and women empowerment, but the plight of women in our country seems to have no end anytime soon.

Bringing shame to our country, another incident of molestation was recently reported by a girl who was on board a Mumbai to Bhubaneswar bound Indigo flight.

According to the message circulated by the girl, a man who was seated behind her in the flight tried to touch her in inappropriate ways over and over again.

The shocked girl didn't stay tight-lipped but confronted the man, clicked his pictures, made a video of him and circulated it.

The message from the girl read as:

"This man on the seat behind mine, put his fingers in the seat gap to touch me!!! I was very shocked for sometime to react. By then the flight went to landing mode. Then the moment flight touched down, I got up. Saw his hand was again on the side ready to take up any opportunity to touch me!!!

"I made sure I humiliate him as much as possible because i know law will do nothing.'"

The girl lodged an FIR with the police and the man is behind the bars now.

The video has gone viral on social media platforms. It has got 907,344 hits and 3,007 likes on YouTube.

The video was uploaded on YouTube on Jan 31, 2015 by Shreyas Rao.

    And to that effect if a woman brushes or touches a man non-intentionally or otherwise is it right to call it molestation?

    How can you jump to any conclusions ? just because a girl shot a video?
    There are many attention seekers out there i feel like this video was created just to gain attention.
    First a proper investigation should be done then only you should reach to any conclusions.
    He looks guilty but still a proper code of conduct must be followed.
    This will affect his kids,wife,family,etc.This clearly looks a fake molestation case.

    In fact looking at the video , girls should be booked for abuses against this man. It won't happen because , laws are gender just favouring women. I at least hope some one from man's family files a complaint against this notorious girl. Witness of co passenger can help to enlighten real incident. Its the exact repeat of Rohtak incident which turned out fake. Such girls are on sprawl to nail innocents for publicity.

    totally agree...I dont think anyone would record and post this video. Is it acceptable inside the flight. If that person had any wrong the girl should report the incident to the airhostes and flight attendance would take care of the issue and police will take action later. This is just another made up story from the girl and comments are just one sided. Just imagine if the guy was bold as her and confront with her? Would she dare to take the video? I bet she would not have dared to look at him!

    Some times we need to blame systems. The Crew of Aircraft must watch now and than and ask passengers are they comfortable and report any incidents. We must make seating arrangements such a way that there is no provision for legs to come out of table. Its quite bad a fully loaded bus and speaking ethics inside it. Why over load flight, bus and train? Though the fuel charge reduced they keep more people inside flight with reduced space and more charges. SYSTEMS TO BLAME AT FIRST.

    If I remember correctly a top executive from a reputed company was also arrested at the M'lore Airport for groping a Malaysian girl on a flight some time back...
    Think some research must be done on these matters...
    1. Are these frequent happenings?
    2. Is it got to do with 'take off'?
    3.Why do only 'Males' do it?
    4. Has it got to do with making of the seats- or the fastening of the belts...which in turn gives thrust to the 'to and fro' motion?
    5. Any other 'notion' al thinking
    by the male that leads him to do it?
    6. Is it a 'knee jerk' reaction or
    jerk from elsewhere that compels a man to do it? Or is it that he is just a jerk'?
    7. Have the Propellers got something to with it..In the sense 'propel' men to get on with it...
    8. How's the man concerned at home? More so how is his wife?
    9. what do the diaries of the man suggest?
    All this and a thorough study will definitely give us the right answer or lead us to the truth.

    Such incident reminds of my personal experience last year.
    Once I was travelling from Masqat (Oman Air) to Kuwait and the seat (space) is so limited (better than AI Express bus seats) and there are chances that accidentally our elbow or arm touches the person setting next us . To my bad luck person sitting beside me was a Kuwaiti lady and she threw her anger by showing her big eyes!. I said sorry to her and requested the flight crew to arrange me an alternative seat which saved me from further damage.

    But the incident mentioned in this article is entirely different. He has to make it a point that he takes his wife with him whenever he needs to fly by air.

    One more Video of the same person shot in the Airport Terminal after the incidence is available which was sent to me in whatsApp along with the video shown here. He apologises by saying sorry and the affected girl asks him that if you murder somebody and then apologise will anybody will excuse. She questions him by asking “what will he react if the same thing happens to his daughter or wife in front of him and whether he will be a mute spectator”
    When she insist of his family members he replies in the video that he has a grown up daughter. Shameless Criminal minded person!!!!

    Shettare, the problem of untouchables can be solved easily... In the public buses in our state, the front 3 rows are reserved for LADIES... Similarly, airlines can also reserve some rows ( say 15 seats ) for ladies travelling alone.. The ladies with their families will sit with their families, where ever they want.. there is a solution for every problem.. where there is a will there is a way... Only single male passengers involve in such habits.

    Both intention and action are criminal but reaction appropriate to ward off such mentally sick. Shaming will have ripple effect warning. No one has right to touch another or invade privacy of others with malicious intent. All should have basic right to be safe and unpolluted with or without segration if we go by equality of all. When we relate to our own being abused we are in pain and when others being abused then we must also feel the same pain and agony. I wonder do tribals in jungles behave in such manner.     The girl was not an adjacent seat passenger. The old man was sitting in the back seat and what kind of pleasure one could find by fingering the girl from the gap of two seats.

    Once, I was a passenger in M'luru-Mumbai Bus and had to sit on the isle seat. The moment the lights went off at night, a hand would come and settle under my thighs and I would jump on my seat. I could not utter a word out of shame. Where did the hand come from ? A man (could be one of the staff) slept on the isle who threw his hands around. Watch out - he chose only a female passenger's seat !

    However, when I leaned to find out the owner of the hand, he pretended to be fast asleep but did not pull out his hand. I removed a safety pin from my possession and pricked his had so hard, it never cropped up again.

    Now do you understand the various methods the molesters adopt ????

    I guess you meant 'rather I would say brushing each other' because to bruise each other, one has to get into a physical hassle.

    Well, in the present busy crowd, we do accidentally rub against our fellow walkers but a decent man/woman turns around apologetically and admits the fault. Those who do the deed purposely, actually walk a bit far and then turn around to watch the reaction. I have thrashed quite a few in my life of this nature. One who recently rubbed against my little one's backside in a shopping mall whom I chased until he dropped his shopped items and fled from the premises.

    Well, it is the second category of the above example are increased today and women don't walk around with a camera ready to record. By the time she realizes such a thing has happened, he may have vanished in the crowd.

    Earlier, women were thinking about their IZZAT and keeping quiet. Not anymore - just as the taxi passenger in Delhi clicked the number plate of the taxi which took the cops all the way till arresting the accused who had done several abuses in the past.

    When someone films you, would you confront her/him and ask him the reason or will you hide your face with guilt ?

    The image of him is enough for the authorities to trace him and get the truth out of him, else, the victim's clothing will bear his fingerprints that will say everything.

    I saw a video clip in a busy train people were travelling, one boy accidentally dashed the girl from her behind then also he said sorry but the girl slapped him. After sometime the same girl fell on the same boy whom she slapped, the boy didn't think even a second and gave a very tight slap just to teach a lesson to that girl. Sometimes what we see and hear is not always true. That's why my request to the authorities to investigate properly and punish the guilty.
