Dubai, Jan 9: Thiya (Malayali Billawa) community members in the UAE assembled in large number on January 5 at the 4th annual get-together on the Ajman beach and then in the Sharjah National Park .
Joint secretary Dharmendra Bangera and treasurer gave a brief on the event and the future plans. After spending an hour on the beach, the event continued in the Sharhah National Park with various games, sports, spot games, raffles etc. for men, women, children and youth.
Dharmendra Bangera was declared the “Star of the Day” who conducted various games and activities with the support of sports secretary, Mahesh Raj, Jnanesh Bikarnakatte and others. Vinod Kumar Bangera, Satish Palan, Manish Udyawar, Ganesh Kumar, Kavita R Ullal, Nagesh Suvarna, Sachin S Manjeshwar, Salil R. Uchil, Samita D. Bangera, Jayaprakash Kunjattoor, Prasad N, Suneet, Nagesh Suvarna and others were among the winners.
Venkappa Ullal, Mumbai, S. Anand, Bangalore and Baby Vishwanath, Mangalore, were the guests present on the day. Prizes were distributed, besides the guests, by Thiya Samaj president Roshan Bolar, vice presidents Yogesh Ullal and Sadashiv Manjeshwar, Nagesh Suvarna, Ishwar M Ail, Ganesh Prasad, Dharmendra Bangera, Bisajakshi and Anand Uppala.
The day-long events were sponsored by Kumar Bangera and Roshan Bolar, and co-sponsored by Bisajakshi, Anand Uppala, Yogesh Ullal and Nagesh Suvarna.
Sadashiv Manjeshwar, Jayaprakash Kunjattoor, Vivek Anand and Jagdish Kadri along with others co-operated to make this full day programmes a grand success.

Kaushik Bangera, Mangalore who scored highest marks in PUC and Savan Kumar Nagesh, Mangalore who scored highest marks in SSLC (CBSE) have been chosen for this award from the applications with photos received by and published in www.thiyabillawa.com.
Thiya Samaj (Malayali Billawa) Dubai , UAE and thiyabillawa.com jointly arranged the presentation of this award. Nagesh Suvarna received this award on behalf of his son Savan Kumar Nagesh from president Roshan Bolar in the presence of Ishwar M Ail of TBDC and other members of Thiya Samaj. The award will be presented to Kaushik Bangera,next month in Mangalore in the presence of Ranjith Bajpe of TBDC.
