Mangalore, Jan 10: Mayor Vijaya Arun has said that the work on converting the Hampakatta- Pumwell stretch of road to four lanes will begin on Sunday January 14.
Speaking to press persons after conducting a spot inspection on the various development works in the city on Tuesday January 9, she said that the traffic will be diverted to facilitate the works and alternative routes will be finalised very soon.
The administration will discuss the inconvenience caused to the public and try to reduce the same as much as possible, she promised.
KUIDFC officers including deputy director J R Lobo, MCC commissioner Krishnappa Poojary, deputy mayor Abdul Saleem, former mayors Shashidhar Hegde, K Ashraf, corporators Lancy Serrao, Kamalaksha Salian, and MCC engineering department officials were present.
