Players fined for Super Bowl match scuffle

New York, Feb 7 (IANS): Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin received the heaviest fine of $10,000 for igniting a scuffle at the end of Super Bowl 49.

The New England Patriots were trying to run out the clock after Malcolm Butler's win-sealing interception in Arizona Sunday when some tempers flared, reports Xinhua.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was trying to take a knee and let the clock run out when Irvin got into a shoving match with Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Irvin who was ejected from the contest and later apologised, drew the heaviest fine Friday.

His teammate Michael Bennett was fined $8,268 and the same fines went to Gronkowski and fellow Patriots tight end Michael Hoomanawanui.
