Mangalore, Jan 10: Do you know how to make butterfly kites?

Australia born Michael Alvares sure knows how and will impart these skills at a kite workshop for children being planned in city.

Mangalore branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in association with Team Mangalore has invited Michael Alvares from Perth in Australia to conduct a kite workshop for children on January 11 and 12.

Alvares who is using kites to teach for the past 23 years will display box kites and ‘Rorrakus kites’.

A press release from forum secretary Giridhar Kamath stated that Alvares will use a ‘Koala lolly dropper’ to drop lollies with parachutes for children and will conduct workshops with miniature butterfly kites, pentagon kites depicting Australian flora and fauna.

The workshop has been organised at SVS high school in Bantwal on January 11 (3 pm) and St Agnes Special school in Bendore on January 12 (11.30 am).
