Mangalore, Jan 10: "Asha Jyothi", a recreation club for the disabled has organized a special meet for the disabled on Sunday January 14 morning at Canara High School, Dongarakeri here.

This was announced in a press conference by B Srinivas Rao, president of Asha Jyothi on Wednesday January 10 morning.

Asha Jyothi is a unit of Seva Bharathi.  It is the only recreation club for the disabled in the district. The meet will be inaugurated by MP D V Sadanand Gowda.  Corproation bank general manager A Mohan Rao will preside over the inaugural funtion while managing director of 'Yojaka India Pvt Ltd will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The meet will be special experience for the specially-abled.  There will be games, dance, songs and all other entertainment programmes.  But there will be no competitions.  Medical assistance through competent child specialists, gynecologists, eye specialists, psychologists too will be provided to the needy ones.

The valedictory of the meet will be held at 3.30 pm on the same night. T Damodar Pai, deputy general manager of Canara Bank will preside over the valedictory ceremony.  B Raghunath Somayaji, managing director of Somayaji Ceramics will be the chief guest.

Savitri Rao, Muralidhar Nayak and Tagore Das were also present at the present conference.
