Cash, jewellery worth Rs 9 lacs stolen from bus passenger

Chikkamagaluru, Feb 8: A woman passenger travelling to the town was relieved of diamond, rubies, and cash worth Rs 8.8 lac during her journey from Bengaluru to the town. The theft happened on the night of Wednesday.

Sridhara Murthy, resident of M G Road here, said that his wife had taken the 11.45 pm KSRTC night bus from Bengaluru. As she was fast asleep, she did not realize that her items had been stolen. The theft came to light after she reached here.

The thieves opened the zip of her suitcase, cut through the cloth, and stole the valuables. A case stands registered relating to this incident in the town police station here.
