Mangalore, Jan 11: Illegally cultivated Ganja has been seized and destroyed by the Mangalore Customs. The ganja worth Rs 13 lac was found being grown near Moodbidri on Wednesday.

Based on credible information, the officials led an operation and found illicit ganja being grown in Kaje, Shirtadi village. Commissioner of Customs, John Joseph led the operations.

Superintendent of Customs Madhusudan Bhat and personnel from the forest department joined the team.

Ganja was being grown in a land of around 2 acres. It is said that there were about 1,500 plants weighting about 3,000 kgs. The plants were in a flowering stage and about to be harvested.
