Mangalore, Jan 11: In an early morning operation, the Pandeshwar police have arrested two notorious bike lifters near Mahakalipadpu railway crossing here on Thursday January 11 at 5.30.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Asif (22), a resident of Veeranagar near here and Mohammad Farooq (20) of Jalligudde.  The police have also seized 8 mobikes from them.

The police sources said that out of the 8 mobikes, 5 were stolen from neighbouring district of Kasargod of Kerala.  Remaining buses were stolen from Attavar, Balmata, and Central Market area in the city.  While 2 are Pulsur bikes, another 5 are Hero Hondas whereas one more is Yamaha.

The police sources said that after stealing bikes, they used to sell them to persons at a minimum rate.

The Pandeshwar police have registered a case against the arrested.
