Karkala, Jan 12: Enraged by the sudden transfer of two teachers of government high school at Hirgan near here, the locals took to streets on Thursday January 11. Parents and members of school development committee gathered in front of the school and staged protest.
Two teachers of the high school were transferred in the last couple of months and they were not replaced by anyone else. Though the school needs 8 teachers to cater to the academic needs of this well-reputed school, there are no adequate number of teachers right now.
Having faced this problem for long, the school development committee members and locals staged protest expressing their apprehensions that the school which has been getting good results, may soon slide on the other side.
Dr Santhosh Kumar Shetty on behalf of the protestors demanded the DDPI to re-appointment the transferred teachers Sampath Kumar and Krishnaveni.
