Mangaluru:Padua College celebrates annual day

Mangaluru, Feb 10: Padua College of Commerce and Management celebrated their annual college day here on Saturday February 7 at the college premises.



























Fr Antony Serrao correspondent of Padua Educational Institution welcomed the guests.

Fr Michael Santhumayor principal read out the annual report.

J R Lobo Mangauru South MLA distributed best outgoing male and female students award to Johnson Mascarenhas and Asha Latha respectively.

Athletes of Padua college Priyanka first year B.Com and Anmol Second year B.Com were honoured on this occasion for their contribution to the college.

 Addressing the gathering MLA J R Lobo said, "This institution has a long and good name from 1944. Outside society is very cruel. To face them the institutions prepare you to face the society. You should utilize your knowledge, if you dont then the society will not recognise you. We need to understand our responsibility of our future.

"There are three problems india is facing. Communalism, Terrorism and Corruption. These problems will destroy our democracy of our country in future. Social fabric of this country we will lose very soon. Corruption destroys the development of our country and foundation of our democracy. Students have the right to vote and choose the right candidate. You are the future of our nation. It is you who need to change this. You need to see that the problems are put to an end. This is the time to know, understand and act." he added

Fr Jerald D'Souza secretary of CBE mangaluru, Prabhakar Neermarga deputy director of correspondence courses at Mangalore University, Roshan Santhumayor vice principal, Darren Monteiro student council president, Pedru D'Souza student council secretary, Joel Pereira cultural secretary, Deepika cultural co-ordinator, Anitha Veigas, Francis D'Cunha high school head master, Vincent Goveas, Rudolph D'Silva and others were also present on this occasion.
